Yard Work

We recently had some concrete poured in various places in our yard. Mainly, we widened our driveway and put in curbing around our flower beds.

The Front Yard

The Back YardThe Driveway
This use to be grass with a little dirt around the base of this tree. Now we want to make it a flower bed. Haven't got that far yet. We can't drive on it yet, but eventually the red car can be parked over more to allow easier accesibility in and out of the garage. This will also work out well when we get rid of the red car and get something bigger, like a truck.
The Side Yards
We got an estimate on pouring concrete in one of the side yards and decided it was too expensive for what we were getting. So we considered gravel. The landscape guy told us he could get us some rock at a good price. So he dropped a load of rock in our driveway and we hauled it into our side yard. He gave us way more then we needed so we did the other side too. Before this area was only a home for weeds.

Camping at Lake Cushman

We left on Father's Day for a few days of camping with my sister Lisa and her family.Kami and Logan spent a lot of time in this playpen keeping each other company. They didn't like it but sometimes entertained us with their cage wrestling. After dinner the first night we made apple pie on a stick. Lisa and I found the recipe online and it was so yummy! You just roast green apples like you would marshmallows until the skin starts to peel. Peel off all the skin roll it in cinnamon and sugar. Then put it back over the fire for a few minutes to carmelize the sugar. It really tasted like apple pie!The kids spent a lot of time riding their bikes around the campground. Here's Jacob on his tricycle trying so hard to keep up with all the other kids on 2-wheelers.
Katie and Ian had fun "offroading" it.Jason and Ellie were allowed to "do the loop" and go around the whole campground. The other kids just had to go back and forth and stay by our campsite. During the day we pretty much had the swimming area to ourselves, which was good because we took up a lot of space. All the kids had a turn driving the SeaDoos with Daddy. Katie enjoyed it more then we thought she would. Me and Lisa tearing it up. We didn't like to do donuts like the guys. We like to look for wake and catch some air. Which was hard to find because there weren't a lot of boats out.
Luke and Jacob floating close to the shore. Someone needs to tell them, when you wave at the camera, don't do it right in front of your face.
Logan had rough couple of days not being able to get down and crawl around very much. But he didn't mind being held by Mommy.
Justin helped all the kids swim out to this island.

On the last day the kids had their bikes at the beach, the water was really shallow so they had a good time riding their bikes right into it. It also helped wash off all the camping dirt.

2nd grade luau

Jason's class had a luau. The boys played the drums and the girls sang one of the songs. Jason is holding his coffee can drum that he decorated. If you look closely he drew a picture of himself surfing and he made the headband.
This video is the class and their kindergarten buddies performing the Hukilau (not sure on the spelling.)

Big Girl!

Kami is still mastering walking but today was the first day she walked without someone cheering her on. She just decided she can do this now.

The Firgrove Olympics

Jason and Katie's school held their 2nd annual Olympics yesterday. They both competed at different times of the day so I was able to watch them both. Jason first won second place in the shoe kick, one of his favorite events, then he won 1st place in the 400 meter, then he was disappointed with a fourth place finish in the long jump. I thought he did a great job. Katie ran the 100 meter first and got first place. Later she did the long jump and the discus. She didn't place in those events but she had a good time and tried her best. Way to go Jason and Katie!

Kami and Jacob had a long day tagging along with Mommy, we were at the school from 9:15 until about 1:45. They were troopers. Kami got a very short, but much needed, nap.

Happy 1st Birthday Kami!

I can't believe my baby is one year old. Time has flown by. I snapped this picture of her on her birthday. It was a very busy day, we didn't have a party until the next day. She's about 3 months old here.

Party Time!!
Kami and all her presents. She's wearing the same birthday dress that Katie wore.
Jacob helped her open presents
Getting a smooch from her big brother
Mommy's homemade cake
Goin' for it! She loved her strawberry cake.

Go Dodgers!

Jason had a great baseball season this year. He went from playing coach pitch last year to a pitching machine that pitches at 40-45 mph this year. Baseball is his new favorite sport. He just finished playoffs. It was double elimination, they lost their first game, won their second game and lost their third game. It was a close game only losing by one run. Jason had some great plays and great hits. We are very proud of him. These are pictures I've taken throughout the season.

Here he is up at bat.
Playing left fieldPitcher, his favorite position. He always shines in this position.Running bases, go Jason go! He even learned how to slide this year.
Swinging for the fences!
It looks like he missed this ball, but he got it and threw the person out at first.
