Cousins Camp 2008

Every summer we try to get all the Kober cousins together at Grandma's house for a sleepover. Usually all the Dads and Uncles and Grandpa go on a fishing trip. They didn't do that this year but we still had Cousins Camp, just minus the sleepover. Our theme this year was pirates, we have games and activities around the theme. Grandma out did herself by buying everyone a pirate shirt and pirate accessories.
Jacob LOVED his shirt, you can tell he thinks he looks pretty cool
This little pirate is all tuckered out
They had to search for gold coins at the bottom of the "lagoon"

Check out this cool cake.

Happy Anniversary

Eleven years ago on August 16th, 1997 Justin and I were sealed in the Los Angeles temple. Since then we've lived in 6 places in 4 states, gone through 4 cars, and had 4 kids. Last year we celebrated our 10 years with a trip to Hawaii. This year we spent the morning at Jason's soccer jamboree, Justin worked for a few hours in the afternoon, then I picked up teriyaki take-out for dinner and a romantic comedy (which we didn't get to watch because the kids also got a movie and stayed up late watching it). Justin arrived home from working that day with a card and chocolates. I love you, honey!
Happy Anniversary!

Kami's Blessing

Kami was blessed on Aug 3rd, she wore the same dress and headband that Katie wore on her blessing day. Daddy was accompanied by Grandpa Kober, Uncle Scott, Uncle Jake and Uncle Brett.

Jacob couldn't resist Kami on the floor within his reach. Kami's photo shoot came to an end.

Leavenworth

It's been two weeks since we got back from Leavenworth and I'm finally posting some pictures. For those of you who don't know, it's a little bavarian town in Washington. We went with Justin's parents, and brothers and sister and their families. We stayed for 2 nights all in the same hotel. Which was a lot of fun swimming in the pool (the outdoor one was more popular but they also had an indoor one), and seeing everyone at the buffet style sit down breakfast. These pictures aren't in chronological order but you get the jist of our trip.

Daddy just bought taffy for them, if you look closely Jacob's right cheek looks like a chipmunk's. I don't think he was supervising their taffy intake. There were 2 goats that lived on a hill right across from our hotel and their fence was right by the sidewalk. The kids were able to get real close but I was afraid one of them might lose a finger. Here's everyone checking out the goats on another day.I swear I have a picture of me kissing this same bear from our last trip to Leavenworth 10 years ago. ButI couldn't find it to post on this blog but I'll keep looking.
Katie wanted to kiss the bear too, but had a hard time reaching him, so she settled for kissing the goat.
We had a hard time getting Jacob to pet the goat for the picture. I don't think he understood what we were trying to do.
There was a really cool putting golf course. Justin took Jason and Katie with Grandma and Grandpa. I stayed back at the hotel with the two little ones. It was a really hot day!
I'm told Katie got a hole in one on this hole. She hit it from about where she's standing, up the hill to the pin. Good job Katie!
Taking a break from golfing with Grandma and Grandpa This is a shot of the golf course, with the goats on the far hill and our hotel is in the upper left corner. Everything was conveniently located.
On our last day the kids wanted to walk down by the Wenatchee river and cross this bridge that they had seen from afar. Jason took this picture. I included it because there aren't too many shots of Justin and I, even though I am just a head.

Pieper and Jacob, they are about 2 and a half months apart.

It's hard to tell but I caught Jason in midair jumping into the pool

Our little painter

We've been working on changing Katie's pink bedroom into Jacob's bedroom with white and blue walls. We were letting the paint dry overnight to see if it needed another coat. Jacob got up this morning and went in and used a white paintbrush we had left out and started painting over the blue. He knew he was in trouble and was embarassed to have his picture taken. You can see him holding the paintbrush in front of his face. We had just barely had enough blue paint to finish the job, now we have to buy more to cover up the white. Luckily this will be easy to fix. I just don't think the paint will wash out of his pajamas. (Mommy was sleeping when this happened and Daddy was on the phone.)
