Great Wolf Lodge

The kids had a blast this past week at Great Wolf Lodge. We surprised them by picking them up from school and heading straight there. They had no idea where we were going until we started giving them hints about 10 minutes away.Kami had fun pulling levers and spinning wheels to see what they would do

This is how we all felt when it was time to go home. Kami fell sleep by the pool before we left.

Harvest Day

Jacob recently had Harvest Day at preschool. The preschool is on their teacher's property and she grows all sorts of vegetables. So the kids took a "field trip" out back to learn about how things grow and pick their very own vegetables to take home. I love that they don't have to travel to a farm to experience these things. She also has chickens, pigs and a cow. Last year the pig and piglets and they were able to come see them.

Learning about corn. She also had them walk through the rows of corn to get them a little more "in touch" with nature. She wanted all the kids to pick their own root vegetables out of the dirt so they wouldn't be afraid of bugs or getting their hands dirty. What a great experience. I even learned a little bit about how vegetables grow and pollinate themselves. I love Mrs. Spencer!

Responsibility

Each month at the kid's elementary school they learn about a positive character trait and at the end of the month there is an assembly where 2 kids from each class are recognized for representing that trait. September was Responsibilty, and both Katie and Jason were chosen. In Jason's class the student's voted and in Katie's class her teacher chose her. I am so proud of both of them for being responsible students.

The picture is a little dark because my flash couldn't reach that far, but here's Jason shaking the hands of the other teacher's after receiving his award. This is Katie and her teacher.

Katie's 7th Birthday

Katie had her party at Super Jump Party Zone again, and everyone was instructed to wear their pajamas and it was a girls only party (except Daddy, and Logan).

Everyone had muffins and fruit, it was still kind of morning.
Katie got lots of great gifts.
And fun was had by all...

More jumping...Ellie, how did you get up so high?
I'm going to distract you with my cuteness and then punch you out.Lots of rules were broken, Grandma had to corral the monkeys and keep them out of the cage.Daddy leading everyone in the singing of "Happy Birthday" Mmmm...Cinnabons!

Did I mention lots of rules were broken? I don't recommend this many people going down at a time.
